There was never a fencing champion or any champion at all who didn’t work hard. It is the degree of hard work that separates the podium from the pack, and defines the colour of the medal.
The praise and excitement for the under 15’s Silversword fencing A team winning the gold medal and the under 11’s winning the bronze medal at the State Club Championship is still vibrating amongst the members, academy’s students, their parents and most of all the coaches. The Silversword Fencing Academy entered three teams to compete at the State Club Championship on 11th of September and all fencers worked hard and achieved many personal bests.

We could not be any prouder of our Academy’s students. They were an absolute credit to their Coaches and themselves. All of their hard work and training has begun to pay off! Our students showed respect, courage, determination, resilience and wonderful sportsmanship throughout the competition. They never gave up on themselves, or each other, when the scores or decisions were not in their favour. They kept playing their own game. They encouraged and supported each other and in the end, amazed us, and their fencing competitors, by winning the GOLD in the under 15s category and Bronze in the under 11’s category.

Our fencers’ performance speaks so much for the culture and companionship found in the Academy, which lead them to achieving these great results.

We wish the team ongoing success throughout their fencing career and we look forward to seeing the great results they have the potential to produce! Once again, Congratulations to all the teams fencing in the State Championship and especially to Luke, Mei Mei, Jack, Riley, William, Sebastian, Darcy, Grace, Isaia and Daniel.
